God’s Gifts

God’s Gifts

Wondrously, God’s gifts come in all styles and sizes. Yes, mini gifts up to gigantic gifts. Spiritual, mental and material gifts, oh my. We are to be grateful for each blessing that the Lord sends our way.

Ah, the miracle of childbirth — the moments when new lives enter the ranks of humanity. Glee, in abundance, is the response when the tiny bundles of joy are welcomed to families. Tears sometimes flow, too, from the excitement of birth entries – miracles of life.

Mary, the mother of Jesus comes to mind. She and Joseph were elated with the blessing to have and to parent the Lord Jesus Christ. His appearance was an unprecedented birth event. It was written of, and God brought the prophetic words to pass.

Recently, I read of the gifted experiences that happened to a young man, Jourdan Duncan, whose car was rendered inoperable. He walked five hours to work and five hours to return home. A police officer, Kirk Keffer, saw Jourdan and offered him a ride. Jourdan shared his situation with Officer Keffer who was so impressed by the diligence and commitment of the young man that he and his fellow officers chipped in to purchase a bike for Jourdan. The police department, though, wasn’t satisfied so they decided to create a Go Fund Me account to help Jourdan get a car. The amount raised was $40,000! Jourdan got his car. He was overjoyed and immensely grateful for his gifted experiences.

I read another gifted experience report of a single mom waitress, Sarah Hoidahl, who paid the tab of two soldiers who patronized where Sarah served. The soldiers posted, online, about Sarah’s kind deed. Word reached Ellen Degeneres who invited Sarah to her show. Ellen had learned that Sarah didn’t have a television. Ellen surprised her with a big screen television and $10,000 – wow!

Last week I went to my mailbox and was pleasantly surprised to find a gift package from one of my friends. Yesterday, I retrieved from my mailbox a card from another friend of mine. She extended an invitation for dinner and a movie, her treat.

God provides gifts, miracles and so much more. The greatest gift is love for which I’m deeply grateful. High and jubilant praises to the Most High.
