There’s so much to do and so little time as the weeks before Christmas rush in. Between shopping, school events with the kids, Christmas plays at church, and all the family and friends gatherings, it can feel overwhelming—and sleep often takes a backseat. But through it all, we manage to do what’s needed for those who count on us.

                  This is your reminder to take a moment to focus on the true reason for the season. Remember, it’s His birth that we’re joyfully celebrating! Let’s not get so caught up in the holiday rush that we forget what it’s all about. Let’s take a moment to fix our eyes on Him—because it’s through this greatest gift that we’ve been blessed with so much more than we ever could have imagined.

                  It’s okay if the tree is a little slanted. It’ll be alright even if you opened the box from the attic and there were only 2 wise men in it. Christmas is not ruined. Those things and all the other extras—the lights, the poinsettias, the candles—are nice and fun to have, but they shouldn’t be so important that they make or break your Christmas.

                  God loves you with or without the beautiful decorations. God loves your perfect décor and your crazy messes. That’s why He sent His Son. It was because of His love for you. Yes, you, flaws and all. He knew us even before we were in our mothers’ wombs. He knew every mistake and bad decision we would make, and yet He still sent His Son to save us. Now that is love—the most beautiful love story there is.

                  You are loved by a good and faithful God. He’s righteous and just. And the amazing thing is—He has big plans for you. Try opening your heart and mind to what He wants to do in your life. Let Him pour His love over you instead of pushing Him away. None of us could ever earn His love, and that’s what makes it such a beautiful gift.
